Chef Solus and The Explorers Discover Fiber!
Hi Nutrition Explorers, this month we explored deep inside the Grains section of the pyramid.
We found something very interesting. We found a new Secret Scroll with the word "FIBER" written on it. We wondered why it was so important. We read on and found out that fiber was really good for your body because it helped food move through your digestive system.
But where could we find this fiber? Fiber is found in whole wheat bread, oatmeal, fruits and vegetables. Lots of food have fiber. You just have to be a Good Nutrition Explorer and look for clues like the word "whole" as in whole wheat bread or pasta. The food labels also tell you if the food has fiber in it. Well that's it for this month. Have fun and keep exploring!
