Jennifer Hudson supports new campaign to stop childhood obesity

Posted on Jan 24, 2014 by Maggie LaBarbera

Jennifer Hudson is known spokesperson for Weight Watchers.  You may remember her on American Idol and in her oscar awarding winning role in Dream Girls.  Since those days, she has lost weight through the Weight Watcher program and has been sharing her story with the nation.

She is now promoting a new Weight Watcher program called "B'More Fit for Healthy Babies program thanks to a new grant. The program works on fostering healthy lifestyle changes in low-income communities with a major focus on stopping childhood obesity.

She was recently in Baltimore, one of the cities that will be piloting the new program.  Baltimore city has about 36% obese population which is higher than the national average.

“It works if you work it, so you have to work it and you have to make it work for you,” Hudson said.

I think ultimately, that is what it boils down to.  Parents must work with their families to take health guidance and adapt it to fit their personal lifestyle.
