It is that time of the year again where Michelle Obama, our beautiful first lady, is hosting the Lunchtime Challenge.
This will be the 4th year that children ages 8-12 years old are invited to work with a parent or guardian to create an original My Plate healthy meal.
The top recipes for each state will once again be published for everyone to enjoy. The winners will be invited to a special Kids' State Dinner at the White House.
Nourish Thought for the Day:
Families that cook together, stay healthy together!
More About the Contest:
First Lady Michelle Obama, the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and WGBH Boston are cooking up all the fun details of the fourth annual Kids’ State Dinner in our nation’s capital!
This summer, one winner from every state and territory will board a Delta Air Lines plane with a parent or legal guardian and fly to Washington, D.C. for two exciting days in the nation’s capital. Winners will stay overnight at the Westin Georgetown, and have an action-packed memorable experience, that includes a private tour at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History and a welcome dinner together. The next day winners and their parent or guardian will be invited to the White House for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend a Kids’ “State Dinner” where they will be served some of the winning recipes, and have the chance to meet the First Lady Michelle Obama!
