Celebrating Cinco de Mayo with the kids?

Mexican cooking is not only healthy but full of healthy food choices!

Beans are healthy protein choice.  So healthy that the USDA actually added them into the veggie section too!
Tip:  Ask for whole beans instead of refried.  Refried has more grease than you can imagine!

Lower the fat by avoiding crispy fried foods.
Tip: Ask for a soft taco shell instead of hard.  Hard shells have been deep fried.

Green salad goes perfect with Mexican food.  So load up on the salad.
Tip:  Enjoy fresh salsa

Avocados are a healthy oil and packed with nutrition.
Tip: add a quarter of an avocado or a tablespoon of fresh guacamole onto your meal!

If you are planning on eating out, enjoy these quick tips on the highest and lowest calorie Mexican foods.  Eating healthy Mexican food is easier than you think.
