National School Lunch Week challenges kids to a fun food-personality quiz to promote healthy habits

Posted on Oct 11, 2010 by Maggie LaBarbera

This week is national School Lunch Week.

This year's theme is "What's On Your Tray?".  A campaign to help kids learn about the foods that make them healthy.

Kids can go to to the What's On Your Tray website and take a personality/food quiz that has a clever little edge to questions making it fun for kids.  Then kids will be given a word to describe their personality and some positive encouragement about their food choices.

Depending on how they answer the questions about what, why and how they choose their lunch food items, they will be either:

  • balanced
  • radiant
  • strong
  • chilled
  • creative
It is a clever way to give kids some positive messaging about nutrition and healthy choices all sprinkled in a clever personality test.  I like the idea.  Who doesn't want to know what kind of score they will get, how they will fare.  It is also a great way to get them talking with their friends about why they are rated one personality or another.

These days, you have to be clever to grab kids attention, you are competing with so many other activities.   So what a great idea.  I love it!

That is such a cute idea. Kids need to know about nutrition just like everyone else. The earlier the kids learn about nutrition the better their chance of selecting appropriately later in life.
