National Healthy Kids Day Hosted By the YMCA

Posted on Apr 27, 2012 by Maggie LaBarbera

National Healthy Kids Day is an annual event hosted by the YMCA.

It is a way to get kids focused on healthy behaviors and being active through fun interactive participation.

Most family YMCAs will be hosting some event for children and families to celebrate healthy children.  With all the news about the growing childhood obesity population, diabetes now more common in children and general concern about how to get them eating healthier, it is nice to have an event that is addressing these concerns but in a fun and positive way.

More than 1,900 Ys across the country are taking part in the celebration with free community events for families, meant to kick start physical activity and learning throughout the summer.
