A healthy breakfast to give your kids so they are energized for their day!
Ingredients
Apple juice 2 cups
Water 11/2 cups
Maple syrup 1/3 cup
Salt (optional) 1/2 tsp
Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked) 2 cups
Apple, chopped, fresh unpeeled 1 cup
Cinnamon, a dash (optional)
Directions
Kids: In a 3-quart saucepan add juice, water, syrup, cinnamon and salt.
Adults: Bring mixture to a boil. Stir in oats and apple.
Adults: Return to a boil; reduce heat to medium low.
Adults: Cook about 1 minute for quick oats (or 5 minutes for old fashioned oats or until most of the liquid is absorbed, stirring occasionally. Let stand until of desired consistency.
