Healthy Oat and Raisin Chewy Cookies
You will find these biscuits amazingly easy to make – and they are healthy too. When they are done, they are soft and delicious. There is very little added sugar as the raisins give the sweetness and because they contain oats, they will keep your energy levels up for ages!
Ingredients
- 50g low-fat margarine or butter
- 50g caster sugar
- 1 tbsp set honey
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 50g plain flour (use wholemeal if you like)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 80g porridge oats
- 50g raisins
Directions
Adults: Heat the oven to 180 C
Kids: Grease a baking sheet with a little butter.
Together: (you can use an electric mixer if you like)
Kids: Mix the butter, sugar and honey in a bowl.
Add the egg and cinnamon powder and mix well.
Kids: Add the flour, baking powder, oats and raisins and mix again.
Together: Spoon dollops of the cookie dough onto the baking sheet.
Adults: Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
Adults: Remove them from the oven when they are golden brown and still a bit soft to touch. Leave them on the tray for a minute then pop them on a wire tray.
