A delicious breakfast that the kids can help prepare.
Ingredients
1 egg
All purpose flour or whole wheat flour 1 cup
Non fat milk ¾ cup
Sugar 1 tablespoon
Vegetable oil 2 tablespoons
Baking powder 3 teaspoons
Salt ¼ teaspoon
Directions
Kids: Crack the egg and beat with a fork until egg looks foamy.
Kids: Add the flour, milk, sugar, vegetable oil, baking powder and salt. Beat with a fork until mixture is smooth. (For thinner pancakes, add 1 tablespoon of milk).
Adults: Spray the griddle or skillet with cooking spray and heat to medium.
Together: For each pancake, pour about ¼ cup of batter onto the griddle or skillet.
Adults: Cook for about 2 minutes or until pancakes are fluffy and dry around the edges. Turn the pancakes over and cook for about 2 minutes until golden brown.
Adults: For a variety add ½ cup fresh or frozen (thawed and drained well) blueberries. Add fruit after step one.
