Garbanzo beans, (chickpeas) canned 8 ounces
Tahini 1 tablespoon
Lemon juice 1 tablespoon
Garlic, chopped 1 teaspoon
Olive oil 3 tablespoons
Salt and pepper to taste
Kids: Drain and rinse the garbanzo beans by pouring beans into a strainer.
Adults: (Do not have children use top of can to drain beans because it is very sharp and can easily cut skin)
Together: Puree the garbanzo beans in a blender or food processor with the tahini, lemon juice and garlic. With the machine running, add the olive oil slowly, until the hummus becomes thick and creamy.
Kids: Add salt and pepper to taste.
Adults: Try serving with warm pita bread.
