Easy and tasty breakfast for the whole family. A breakfast classic gets a healthy twist by incorporating whole wheat flour. It's a fun one to cook with the kids.
Ingredients
Salt 1/2 teaspoon
Nonfat Milk 3/4 cup
Egg 1 each
Butter, melted 1/3 cup
Blueberries 1 cup
Whole Wheat Flour 1 3/4 cups
Sugar 1/3 cup
Baking Powder 2 1/2 teaspoons
Directions
Adults: Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Together: Prepare 12 muffin cups with liners or a light layer of canola oil.
Kids: Place the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt together in a medium sized bowl. Stir to combine.
Kids: Whisk the egg and milk together in a separate large mixing bowl. All cooks should wash their hands with soap and warm water after handling raw eggs.
Kids: Add to flour mixture, stirring just until moist.
Together: Gently fold in the berries into the batter.
Together: Fill each muffin cup about 3/4ths full with batter. Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Enjoy!
*Can also uses fruits like apricots, raisins or cranberries
