Besides exercise, I have found that eating a diet full of raw vegetables is very important. A great resource that I have found to be incredibly resourceful in helping me understand the benefits of raw vegetables is a great book titled, "The Live Food Factor," by Susan Schenck. Susan is very dedicated in her approach of being objective and open to all the different versions of the raw diet. While most raw diets are vegan, she warns that this might not be for everyone. She goes into great depth about some of the potential pitfalls on the raw diet, and even covers the "radical branches" of the diet such as the nonvegan raw fooders. Since using the ideas pointed out in this book, I have felt so much more energy!

While some of the raw food isnt digestible, all the foods should not be cooked. The reason is that when certain foods are cooked they loose their nutritional value. Often over-cooked food looses most of its nutrient value. Proper care should be taken in selecting each food, and it is always good to be informed about foods that should be consumed raw and those that shouldn't. This will definately have a lot of effect on our health in the long run.
