Teacher Lesson Plan - Fill The Sink With Bubbles

 

The students will learn how to wash their hands properly with soap and water after touching food, before eating, or after using the bathroom while filling the sink up with bubbles!

Keyboard commands for fill up the sink with bubbles:

Mouse: To have the student start washing their hands, place the cursor on the sink and double click to start the water. Then, double click again on the sink when it asks you to “add soap”.

 

A high-speed Internet connection is recommended. Computer and Internet access, the latest Flash and Shockwave players installed, download free from Adobe.

Teaching Tips



Review with students when they need to wash their hands (before eating, after touching food, after the bathroom) and what they need to wash their hands.

 

 

1. Discuss the steps with your students of how to wash their hands properly.

2. Allow them to practice (make believe) hand washing at their desks. This will allow them to know the steps to wash their hands properly (model this exercise with them). Repeat this step twice.

3. Guide the students to “Fill The Sink Up With Bubbles”.

4. Then, after the video have each student participate in a “Custom Healthy Goal” certificate from Nourish Interactive Printables. You will need to customize this certificate after you have shown them the video.

 

 

There are two assessments you may be able to do.

First, you can go to an outside faucet and bring soap and watch them wash their hands individually.

Second, you can have the students pretend to wash their hands at their desks without any direction from you. This will give you a quick informal assessment of who comprehended the hand washing lesson.

 

For younger students, allow them to do the same assessment, but with a partner. Your younger students will need more support during this portion and allowing them to have a partner they will develop more confidence in their abilities.
